Ok, it's a weird idea - but bear with me: you don't play chess, the computer plays chess, and you swap pieces to try and give your chess-playing computer an unfair advantage over the opponent's chess-playing computer. So, the computers play against each other, and the humans... .... ...  .....  .... ...... ...

Is this game a bit too blue? Try my previous game - it's browner.

Computers BEAT humans at chess

... But humans can CHEAT.

  • It's you and your computer teammate vs your opponent and theirs.
  • Your computer teammate will play (mostly) reasonable moves in every situation.
  • Use your swap to MANIPULATE your chess computer teammate into favourable situations and hope it takes advantage of it.

How it works

The engine moves for both colours, automatically. Between moves, a short timer opens: pick two of your pieces and swap their squares. Then the engine plays on from the position you just rigged.

The rules of a swap

A swap is blocked if:

  • Either piece is a king.
  • Either piece sits on the first or last rank.
  • The swap would put your opponent's king in check.

Three ways to win

  • Checkmate — the classic finish.
  • Fill the advantage bar — tilt the evaluation far enough your way.
  • Clear their special pieces — strip the board of the opponent's key pieces.

Thanks for playing!
